Thank you for using the services of Scoreboard, LLC d/b/a Scoreboard (“Scoreboard,” the “Company,” “we,” “us” or “our”). Scoreboard respects your (“user,” “you” or “your”) right to privacy and we strive to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Scoreboard, LLC d/b/a Scoreboard Fundraising (“Scoreboard,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you (“user,” “you,” or “your”) when you access or use our websites, applications, and related products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.

  1. SCOPE AND APPLICATION

1.1 Who this Policy applies to.

This Privacy Policy applies to individuals who interact with the Services, including:

(a) website visitors;

(b) campaign administrators/organizers;

(c) donors/supporters; and

(d) individuals who contact us or receive communications from us.

1.2 Where this Policy applies.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Services offered by Scoreboard. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or apps that may be linked to from the Services or embedded within the Services, which are governed by their own privacy practices.

1.3 United States processing.

All personal information collected through the Services is stored and processed exclusively in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Information you provide.

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide through the Services, including:

(a) name;

(b) email address;

(c) phone number;

(d) organization/group information (including team/group name and related campaign details);

(e) address information (street, city, state, zip) where provided;

(f) fundraiser and campaign details (such as category, group type, group size, start date, and related information);

(g) communications you send to us (support requests, inquiries, or other messages); and

(h) consent choices and preferences (including communication preferences).

2.2 Payment information.

If you make a donation or payment through the Services, payment information is processed securely by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe). Scoreboard does not store full payment card numbers on its servers.

2.3 Information collected automatically.

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

(a) device information (hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, browser type/language);

(b) network and connection information (mobile network information, including phone number where applicable);

(c) log information (IP address, date/time of requests, referring URLs, pages viewed, actions taken, error logs and diagnostic data);

(d) telephony/SMS log information (phone number, timestamps, routing information, message delivery status, and related metadata); and

(e) cookies or similar technologies that may identify your browser or your Scoreboard account (see Section 3).

2.4 Location information.

We may derive approximate location information from IP address and other device signals. We use location information only to support core Service operations and security. We do not use location information for advertising or behavioral tracking.

2.5 Local storage.

We may use browser web storage (including HTML5) and application data caches to store certain information locally on your device to support core functionality and performance.

2.6 Account association.

Information collected when you are signed into your Scoreboard account may be associated with your account and treated as personal information.

  1. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

3.1 What cookies are.

Cookies are small data files stored on your device by your browser. Cookies may contain a unique identifier and other information.

3.2 How we use cookies.

We use cookies and similar technologies only for:

(a) essential functionality (session management, login, navigation);

(b) security (fraud prevention and protecting accounts);

(c) preferences and settings; and

(d) limited, non-advertising analytics to maintain and improve the Services.

3.3 No advertising, remarketing, or behavioral tracking.

Scoreboard does not use third-party advertising cookies, remarketing cookies, or behavioral profiling cookies, and does not track users across third-party websites for advertising purposes.

3.4 Your choices.

You can control cookies through browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Services may not function correctly.

  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We may use information we collect for one or more of the following purposes:

4.1 To provide and operate the Services.

To create and manage accounts, administer fundraisers, support campaign functions, and provide donor and participant experiences.

4.2 To improve, maintain, and secure the Services.

To monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, prevent fraud, protect users, and maintain the integrity of the Services.

4.3 To communicate with you.

To send service-related notices, account notifications, campaign updates, security alerts, and responses to inquiries.

4.4 To provide support.

To respond to support requests and maintain records of communications to resolve issues.

4.5 To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect rights, safety, and property.

4.6 No advertising-based uses.

We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising, remarketing, or behavioral profiling.

  1. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND INTEGRATIONS

5.1 Third-party services.

The Services may include third-party tools or content (e.g., app stores, hosting, security services, payment processors, messaging providers, or embedded media). Third parties may collect information under their own terms and privacy policies.

5.2 Informational video / YouTube.

If the Services display informational videos using YouTube API Services, YouTube and Google may collect certain device and usage information according to their terms and privacy practices. We encourage you to review:

Scoreboard does not provide personal information to YouTube/Google for advertising or remarketing purposes; any video functionality is limited to informational display.

5.3 Key service providers.

We may use service providers that process personal information on our behalf, including:

(a) payment processing (e.g., Stripe);

(b) hosting and storage (e.g., AWS);

(c) security and content delivery (e.g., Cloudflare);

(d) SMS delivery and communications (e.g., Twilio).

These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to Scoreboard and are contractually required to protect the information.

  1. WHEN WE SHARE INFORMATION

6.1 General rule.

We do not share personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Scoreboard except as described in this Privacy Policy.

6.2 No sale of personal information.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for third-party advertising or behavioral tracking purposes.

6.3 With your consent.

We may share personal information when you direct us to do so or provide consent. We require opt-in consent to share sensitive personal information where applicable.

6.4 With administrators/campaign organizers.

If your account or fundraiser is administered by an authorized organization, domain administrator, coach, or campaign organizer, that person may have access to information necessary to administer the fundraiser, including:

(a) campaign participation and performance information;

(b) account or contact details relevant to the fundraiser; and

(c) records needed for administration, compliance, or support.

Administrators may be able to manage access, suspend or terminate access, and restrict deletion or edits when necessary to administer the campaign or comply with legal obligations.

6.5 For external processing (service providers).

We may share personal information with trusted vendors who process information on our behalf under written agreements requiring confidentiality and security. They may not use your information for their own unrelated marketing.

6.6 For legal and safety reasons.

We may disclose information if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

(a) comply with law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request;

(b) enforce the Terms of Service and investigate potential violations;

(c) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or

(d) protect rights, property, or safety of Scoreboard, users, or the public, as permitted by law.

6.7 Aggregated or de-identified information.

We may share aggregated or de-identified information (such as general usage trends) that does not identify you.

6.8 Business transfers.

If Scoreboard is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take reasonable steps to ensure confidentiality protections and provide notice where required by law.

  1. INFORMATION SECURITY

7.1 Safeguards.

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Measures may include encryption in transit (e.g., SSL/TLS), access controls, and periodic security reviews.

7.2 No guarantee.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  1. COMMUNICATIONS (EMAIL, SMS, NOTIFICATIONS)

8.1 Service communications.

We may contact you about service-related matters (account notifications, campaign updates, security notices, operational messages). Where applicable, you may be able to opt out of non-essential notifications.

8.2 SMS (text messages) — opt-in.

If you opt in to SMS messages, we may send texts related to your fundraiser or service requests. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You may reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary.

8.3 Marketing communications — separate opt-in.

If you separately opt in to marketing communications, we may send promotional messages. You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, and opt out of marketing SMS by replying STOP.

  1. ACCESSING, UPDATING, AND DELETING YOUR INFORMATION

9.1 Access and correction.

We aim to provide reasonable access to your personal information and allow you to request corrections where appropriate.

9.2 Deletion requests.

You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to lawful exceptions. We may need to verify your identity and/or authority before fulfilling requests.

9.3 Limits on requests.

We may decline or limit requests that are manifestly repetitive, require disproportionate effort, would compromise others’ privacy, or are impractical (including requests involving certain archival backups).

  1. DATA RETENTION

10.1 Retention principles.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business and legal purposes, including security, fraud prevention, compliance, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements.

10.2 Typical retention timeframes (guidance).

(a) Active accounts/campaigns: retained while active and as needed to operate the fundraiser.

(b) Account closure/deletion requests: generally deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period after request/closure, unless retention is required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or recordkeeping.

(c) Backups: residual copies may persist in secure backups for limited periods and are overwritten or purged according to operational backup cycles.

(d) Transaction records: may be retained as required for accounting, tax, and audit purposes.

  1. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Scoreboard does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it as quickly as reasonably possible.

Scoreboard is designed for use by adults and organizations administering fundraisers. If a fundraiser involves minors, participation should be supervised by an authorized adult or organization, which is responsible for obtaining any required consents.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to your personal information, such as:

(a) the right to be informed;

(b) the right to access;

(c) the right to correct;

(d) the right to request deletion (subject to lawful exceptions);

(e) the right to restrict or object to certain processing (where applicable); and

(f) the right to data portability (where applicable).

We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law. Where Scoreboard is used by schools or youth organizations, we may require that requests regarding student data be submitted by an authorized representative or verified parent/guardian, consistent with applicable law and organizational instructions.

  1. COMPLIANCE AND REGULATORY COOPERATION

We periodically review our compliance with this Privacy Policy. If we receive formal complaints, we will follow up with the complainant and work with relevant authorities where required by law.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and revise the Effective Date/Last Updated date. If changes are significant, we may provide a more prominent notice (including email notification for certain Services). We may maintain an archive of prior versions for reference.

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Service. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
